About Me
Growing up I had the privilege of coming from a Pro-Therapy Household (thanks, Mom and Dad!) I started my own therapy journey at the young age of 13 and to be honest, I hated it. While I finally had a name for what I was feeling, and a space to be vulnerable, I was deeply uncomfortable sitting with my emotions and taking accountability for the role I played in conflict. However, I now identify this process as crucial to my healing journey, inspiring me to pursue this career path myself. Go figure!
Connection means everything to me. Because our thoughts, feelings, experiences, beliefs, and behaviors impact our interactions with others, I recognize how our relationships heavily depend on our efforts to grow individually in these areas. As a systems-based therapist, I prioritize the impact our close relationships and attachment history have on our mental health and overall ability to access our best selves. The more I bear witness to my clients challenging themselves to be emotionally vulnerable with themselves and their loved ones, the deeper my belief in the power of human connection grows.
I have a special place in my heart for helping individuals and their partners navigate the nuances of the pregnancy and post-partum experience. Utilizing my professional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Perinatal Mental Health, I work with individuals and couples in preparation of the relational transition, reparations of broken bonds, and the overall strengthening of intimacy and connection. I heavily rely on body-based techniques to assist in regulation during this process and utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore the parts that show up to protect us in times of activation.
My favorite ways to prioritize my own mental health include my yoga practice, connecting with my people, and incorporating humor where-ever possible.
